That Ain't Mine Man...

I don't know how it got in my car. My friend must have left it there. I just bought the car. You planted it. Some dude just threw it in the window back there. This ain't my car. Aliens must've put it there.

When I search a car, or a person for that matter, and I find their stuff, the standard response is "That shit ain't mine man!" Well, it was in your car, pants, sock, backpack, etc., how'd it get there?

I don't know about you, but NOTHING gets in my pants without my knowledge... Umm, hmmm, well, you know what I mean.

I suppose the thought is, if you say right away the stuff isn't yours you'll have a better defense. You can say "Well, I told the officer it wasn't mine and I didn't know how it got there", and you'll be home free, right? Well, not exactly. The problem with that is, EVERYBODY says the same thing. It loses it's effectiveness after it's been used that much.

Be creative. Say "it's not a crack pipe, it's a pipette for your chemistry class". Or maybe, "Oh, I found that on the sidewalk back there... it's crank? " Perhaps, "I thought that was an Airsoft gun... I would NEVER carry a real gun". Something other than "I don't know".

Then again, criminals are generally stupid right? That's why they're the criminals.

LOL!! You are so right about the standard response from everyone aftering discovering drugs/weapons during a car/person search. It always amazes me how they really think we are going to believe them! ha! Apparently their friends who were busted earlier never passed on the message - it don't work!

I still can't believe people think we're so dumb. I had someone tell me (after I found marijuana in his pocket) that they weren't his pants. They can still surprise me.

I have seriously lost count of how many times I have been told they were wearing someone else's pants.
