'Tis the Season...

Today I had to do something I didn't like. I had to tow a car. Now, normally I love towing people's rides, but this close to Christmas it's really a bitch. This guy was just a working stiff like the rest of us, but I couldn't, in good conscience, let him drive away.

The vehicle registration was expired by nine months. This makes the car towable in and of itself, but I don't always tow them. The driver was suspended. That also makes the car towable. The lack of insurance is not a towable offense, but combined with the other factors, I had no real choice but to tow the car. He knew he was taking a huge risk by driving under such conditions. He didn't like that I towed his car, but he understood and didn't give me shit about it.

I could have towed it for thirty days, but I didn't. Merry Christmas.

Sometimes you just gotta do the unlikable thing. Even though it is Christmas time.
