Viva La Migra!!!

Yet another thing I don't understand.

An illegal can come to this country unimpeded. This same illegal sets up residence in my beloved country in a house I cannot afford, works under the table and pays no taxes. This same illegal immigrant thinks he is going to get out of a jaywalking ticket just because he doesn't speak English.

I'm sorry, but just because you don't speak our language does not exempt you from obeying our laws. Pardon my French, but if you don't want to abide by our laws, go the fuck back to Mexico and jaywalk.

These same "people", if they are run down by a vehicle while jaywalking, will sue the pants off the driver, the driver's insurance company, the city, the state, and any other entity they can think of. And the truly sad part is, they'll usually get a large settlement they don't deserve.

So, you can come into this country illegally, break the law with relative impunity, and sue for damages when your illegal activity gets you hurt. How can you lose?

If I go to Mexico and break the law, I will get thrown in jail for a long time, with absolutely no recourse.

I cited an illegal today for jaywalking. It took me almost an hour to get his information out of him because he had no identification. He didn't speak a lick of English, and since I am not in Mexico, Spain or any other Spanish speaking country, I do not speak a lick of Spanish. As a result, we had difficulty communicating. I could tell by the look on his face he thought he wasn't going to get a ticket because he wasn't giving his information. Nope. Sorry Julio, but it just ain't that easy.

I do not give up. I will find a Spanish speaker and get your information. It may take me a while, but I'll get it. And you will get your citation.

Foolio didn't want to sign the cite because he said his attorney told him not to sign anything that could be used to deport him. HA! When I held the cite book in one hand and my handcuffs in the other, he got the idea and decided to sign the citation. I wish these people would get deported, but I know they won't for a simple traffic citation. Hell, they don't even get deported for theft.

I know he'll never go to court on this. That doesn't bother me. I got my stat. When he FTA's (fails to appear), a warrant will be issued, but nothing will happen to him. Next time he'll give a different name.

Screw the cites. Maybe I should just start arresting them.

Might as well....the judge may not be too happy but screw the judge!! They are half the problem anyway - always slapping criminals on the wrist and freeing them to go commit crimes again.
Helll, if I were you...I would just start arresting them all. Technically, any law broken is grounds for arrest. It's just we are too nice and give them citations instead for half the *hit we catch them doing. But screw it!! Let's arrest them all and send them back to Mexico!
