If you are going to visit your friend at his or her house, and you pull onto the friend's street and notice twelve cops milling around in the block (some with dogs, and most with guns), and a helicopter circling overhead, do yourself a favor.... come back later.
And if, for some reason, logic should fail you and you should decide to park and start walking to your friend's house anyway, when I tell you you should probably leave and come back later, do not tell me you are just dropping something off for your friend and continue walking.
Furthermore, if you do still decide to continue walking toward your friend's house after my warning, and I tell you, a bit more forcefully this time, that we have a police dog in the block searching for a very bad person and you need to leave before the dog starts looking for you, please don't get all huffy with me and stomp back to your car like a two year old while muttering under your breath.
Dude, just take the fucking hint, okay?

Last year we had an officer get shot at in an apartment complex. I was one of the perimeter officers while the K9s were roaming the complex. I actually had a couple of residents try to sneak up on me "to find out what was going on." Fortunately for them, they were both a different sex, age, and physical description than the shooter.
It is real simple. Just listen to the Officer and leave. But so many people are to STUPID to listen.
There's just no fixing stupid...

Reminds me of back when I used to be a paramedic. We were taking a guy down an elevator in a public housing hi-rise, doing CPR at the time, when the elevator stopped and the door opened. Two women saw us doing CPR and got in anyway despite my telling them to take the next one. Then they actually pressed the button for another floor, making us stop again before we could get to the lobby and our ambulance outside.
Some people just need to be shot on sight, cause of death listed as: terminal stupidity.
