Give me a Brake...

I think some drivers around these here parts need an occasional reminder that the brake pedal in their vehicle is the big rectangular one in the middle, not the long skinny one on the right.

I have been taking an inordinate number of collisions where some little old lady / little old man mistakes the gas for the brake, sending their cars careening through parking lots, down streets or up driveways, usually coming to a stop only because of the irresistible force of a fixed object such as a building.

I'm almost out of driver re-examination forms...

Thank you for making them submit to driver reexamination instead of just sending them on their way!

"Oh it's okay, they're just old." Is no excuse. It disgusts me when I hear people tell me that when the subject is breached.

Everybody sing! "You deserve a 'brake' today, so get up and get away..."

I'm an insurance adjuster, I get about one major car vs. building a week (the smaller ones go to another dept). About 30% drunk and speeding, and about 70% old and confused.

It truly shocks people how much damage results from straight forgetting how to drive.
