And Now for Something Completely Different....

This is not entirely a police related topic, but it still irks me.

When did pajama bottoms and flip-flops become proper public attire? Every day I see people wearing their freakin' bed clothes to the store, to restaurants, and even to school. WTF? And I'm not just talking about teenagers either. I see grown adults dropping their kids off for school or grocery shopping while wearing pajama bottoms. I even saw a gal the other day wearing SLIPPERS for crying out loud.

Then you see the women who think it's "sexy" to let their pajama bottoms sag down so low it shows off their ass fault. This is not sexy, it's slovenly. It makes me want to tell these people to put some clothes on.

It seems that the people who dress in this fashion are also the ones who have a fashionable attitude. If you comment on their clothing, they snap back at you as if it's none of your business how they dress. IT IS MY BUSINESS! I HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR ASS STANDING IN LINE IN FRONT OF ME!

Then there's the stuff parents wear when they're taking their kids to school. I saw a guy just this morning who was wearing a t-shirt that said "DON'T GIVE" with a picture of a rat, holding a leash, attached to a donkey. What kind of message are we sending when we take our first grader to school while we are wearing a t-shirt that says we don't give a rat's ass?

Last week it was a mother wearing a "Camel Towing" t-shirt. And don't even get me started on the giant marijuana leaves. These are the people who wonder why the police pay so much attention to them. Give me a freakin' break. It makes me want to get a t-shirt that says "You're an idiot", but then again, I don't want to reduce myself to their level.

What has our society become when people feel that they can do whatever they want, then blame it on someone else when they are called on it?

Ridiculous...

Amen!!! I work at a WalMart and have to see all these freaks, and more, every day. At least when I wear pj bottoms to drop my kid off at school, I use the car drop off line instead of walking her up to the door. No one sees them but she and I.

My pet peeve is still when you see trousers dropped way down the butt so they can expose their underwear. The fact that they are wearing underwear is a blessing but it is a fact that I would rather take for granted than to have them prove it to me. When did that stop being lewd behaviour and when did people become so stupid?

One of our frequent flyers showed up for court wearing a t-shirt that said: YOU'RE STUPID. The judge reamed him a new tailpipe.....and found him guilty.

I once sarcastically suggested to a teen sporting a large marijuana patch on his jacket that he might as well have a shirt that said "Hey Pig, I'm a Stoner, Harrass my Ass." His reply, "That would be cool."

I just found your blog, and have been reading through all your posts.
I just want to say that I think you are a wonderful storyteller - thanks to you I've been sitting here on my ass reading instead of doing whatever else I should be doing!
I also want to thank you for your service - I have a niece and nephew who are both police officers, and reading your posts helps me understand what they do and what they face. At least a little.
Finally, I want to say how sorry I am about the loss of your wife. I hope you and your boys are doing all right, at least most days. Cancer sucks.

I wear my lounge pants out because i have a medical condition that my legs swell up all the way to the knee and getting into any pairs of jeans is is impossible! I would wear my jeans every day if I could but I got tired of trying to pull them over the swollen calves I have! But other then that i think no one should wear them out unless they have to! I just wish I didn't have to!

So now its been six months trying to understand. What is this new life, what am I to do now. It's been nine years for me since cancer took my wife. My wedding ring danced between my fingers. I learned to cook. I lived alone until I was convinced that I had something else to give to someone. I asked my girl to get married this month and the responses I received were mostly, "It's about time." They are right, it is all about time. Make the most of this life, you deserve it.

I hope you continue the blog - I just found you today, rather by accident as my husband came across it and said "you might like this'.

My Mom was a sheriff up in Multnomah County Oregon, Dad was military police.

I am one of the persons who wears my bed lounge pants out side what most people don't see is the back brace i have on the bed lounge pants are big enough to fit over the brace when my jeans don't and i also wear flip flops because they are easier to put on when i am wearing the brace because i literally can't bend in the brace! It is solely because of the comfort issue that I wear them outside!

I can certainly appreciate appreciate a medical need, but the twenty somethings I see, probably have no such necessity.
