That's Reckless Driving by statute where I was working. As I walked out into traffic and flagged him over to the shoulder, he was waving something and yelling "I already got one!"

I said "Already got what?"

He said "One of your partners back up the road already got me...And I'm late for the airport to catch a flight!"

I took the ticket that he had in his hand, and sure enough, one of my co-workers had tagged him about four miles back... for Reckless Driving. He seemed to think that because he'd already gotten one, that he was just good to go, and when I told him that he was getting another one, he whined that it wasn't fair, and that I was making him miss his flight.

I finally handed him his new ticket, told him his mandatory court date and advised him to retain an attorney beforehand. He just kept shrugging me off like it wasn't a big deal. So then I told him that I was going to follow him all the way to the airport, and that if he exceeded the posted limit by so much as 5mph, I'd be stopping him again and probably arresting him since he was proving that he just couldn't drive safely. He about flipped out, going on and on about his flight and how "we" were making him miss it, and he told me that I couldn't legally follow him all the way to the airport or give him another ticket.. I suggested that the next time, he leave earlier, and that if he didn't think I could follow him and stop him again, he just needed to look in his rearview mirror and watch me. And we departed, and all the way to the airport, he held the speed limit and glared at me via his mirror.

He pled on the two tickets so I never got subpoenaed or found out what he got smacked with but I'm sure that whatever it was, the DMV and his insurance company took notice. But it still cracks me up to think that he really believed that the first one he got would have prevented him from getting a second one.Murphy's Lawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17164780742334950772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-190524197374045099.post-42543301792497385192008-07-11T20:57:00.000-07:002008-07-11T20:57:00.000-07:00Yeah, I kinda like it too....Yeah, I kinda like it too....Officer "Smith"https://www.blogger.com/profile/16053602205443157704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-190524197374045099.post-17727412399718943412008-07-11T03:10:00.000-07:002008-07-11T03:10:00.000-07:00See, every time you say "press hard, there are 4 c...See, every time you say "press hard, there are 4 copies" it makes my day.
