Do the Wave...

Yet another thing that drives me absolutely nuts is when some asshole in a big SUV or a big jacked up 4x4 pickup truck comes bombing up alongside traffic approaching a merge, then at the last second forces his or her way in front of me...

Then waves at me as if to say "Thanks".

WTF?

Why are you waving at me you ass? I didn't let you in. You almost took off the front of my truck with your twelve inch drop trailer hitch, and I slowed down because I value my vehicle and my life a little bit more than you apparently do.

It's almost like they think waving makes it all better. Like "I'm waving thanks at you, so I didn't really pull an idiot maneuver."

Idiots abound...

What gets me going is when that same driver then revs the engine super loud & takes off....all the while buring about $5 in gas and making my ears hurt!

Those are the times I wish I had my Buick Roadmaster again.. it's been through a convenience store, with minimal damage (found out power brakes don't work when your car fails), and I'd just stick on the tail. I found out they usually valued their car more than something that has had bricks falling on it and paint off and a few dents. Those are the times I wish for a paintball gun to splat their window with.

I know what you mean.....people who try to cut in front of me like that really tend to annoy me. And sometimes (like when going thru Chicago) I won't even let them get the option of pulling in front of me. As soon as I see them roaring past on the SHOULDER, I straddle both my lane and the shoulder so they are FORCED to get BEHIND ME. Usually I get a finger shoved my way, but I don't care. My question for them is....well, then why the hell were you DRIVING ON THE SHOULDER in the first place?!? I guess you should have attempted to merge WAY BACK WHERE YOU CAME ONTO THE INTERSTATE like a normal driver does! But that's just me....

Reminds me of the idiot jay walkers when I drive through the city. While I'm testing the reliability of my brakes, those jack asses are mindlessly waving at me as if it was MY idea they suddenly step out in front of a moving car.

I hate that. Happens here in Vegas all the time, especially on freeway on-ramps. It's bad enough that you have the drivers who think, "hey, as long as there's a fraction of the merging lane left, I can treat it like a whole lane, right?"

... but then I've actually seen people go AROUND these last-minute mergers and proceed to cut in a couple hundred feet up the road.

If only driver's license tests could test for not only knowledge of traffic laws, but intent to obey...
