Every person I have ever spoken to who could not spell their own name has been lying about their name. Go figure.
It's also fun to ask for their age, then their date of birth. It makes them think, because they have to do the math to figure out how old they would be if they were actually born on the day they told me.

Just be careful using that age test on Chinese people. My wife (China-born) is very prone to using her age as it's counted in China rather than how we count age.
