I had a person stop me and ask me a while back which hotel I would recommend in my city. My usual response to this question is "The motel 6 in Jonesville", which is about five miles outside my town.
"But, this one is number one in Smithville on Trip Advisor" the person innocently said. I told them it really didn't matter if it was #1 or #30, if all the hotels are horrible, #1 was just the best of the worst.
They're great for me though. I regularly go to the front office of some of our local inns and have a gander at the guest register. Management actually loves it. They sometimes have a few cards set aside for me that they think I'll be particularly interested in. Then I go and run some of the names for warrants. I can usually find somebody to arrest, or at least a good probation or parole search.
You really don't want to stay in our hotels...

Love it! ;)
On really slow nights, we drive through Walmart parking lots and run plates. Always amazing to find out who has an outstanding warrant....and then we just wait for the little buggers to come out with their purchased items....hehe!!
Wow that's a good way to catch the bad guys!
Good job!
Awesome. It's so in their best interests to help out like that.
Just wanted to say that I have enjoyed the blog for a while and that I really like the writing style. You also seem to be an officer that is good to your dispatchers and that is #1 in my book!
Heya Liz,
There are times my dispatchers and I piss each other off, but I try to be good to them. They're usually pretty good to us.
Thanks for reading.
