Why is it that when someone tastes something absolutely disgusting, their first reaction is to say
"Dude, taste this! It's friggin' NASTY!"

The personal views of a California Peace Officer and widower. Be ye forewarned, not everything on this page is fit for children, liberals or Berkeley residents. I don't expect everyone to agree with everything I say, but personal attacks and irrelevant bullshit will not be tolerated. Now, on with it...

the worst is when the next person actually tastes it! Explain that..
LOL do you want legitimate answers or comiseration?
More importantly, why do so many suckers actually try it?!
It's a courtesy taste? Next time they owe you one...
Because you clearly have to share it with the world?? (or is this a retorical question?)
I knew a guy who used to say "This tastes like Ass"... I never did find out how he knew what ass tasted like....

This is part of our instinct as humans to share experiences - particularly ones that can be categorized as a "learning experience." Examples of these are - things that taste nasty, things that smell nasty, things that look nasty, things that sound nasty, things that...ok I'm not going there! I think it comes from the caveman days when we apparently had to be TOLD something was nasty.
lol. Good question!
FroneAmy,
I wasn't necessarily soliciting legitimate answers, but based on Mom's answer it might be funny to get some.
Jackie,
As for things tasting like ass, I've heard that one too. Never bothered to ask how they knew. Figured I wouldn't like the answer.
My favorite is when my husband tastes the milk and then says "Will you take a drink and see if this tastes funny to you?" Um, no. I never have yet, I'm not going to start. Also, when someone says "Does this feel hot to you?"
