Police work has become a spectator sport.
Once upon a time, when folks would see a cop with pistol in hand the inclination used to be to get the hell out of Dodge. Now people don't think of their own safety. They think of what they can post on YouTube or sell to the news.
So, mister cell phone camera dude, I hope you enjoyed recording me standing at the door of a business this morning while I awaited another officer to help with the building search.
Pretty exciting stuff huh?

Fleeing a policeman is the worst thing you can do. They take it as a sign of guilt. This applies to both running away and to turning around and walking away briskly.
The camera shows that the regcit has nothing to hide and can prevent the policeman from taking the regcit into custody.

Regcit = citizen who is not active duty military, LEO (law enforcement officer) or CO (corrections officer). When discussing poce issues and anecdotes, it is easier to just call thme regcits. I am sort of surprised the term confused you. There is a certain logic to it because it combines regular (that is, the "reg" prefix) and citizen (that is the "cit" suffix).
Funny how many of these recordings get "edited" just enough to make us look bad, forget including the facts that led up to why were are where we are at the moment.
